This single vineyard wine was made from the best
barrels of the vintage. Allowing us to show the
nuances of this individual Vineyard site on the
southern edge of the McLaren Vale Township. It is
influenced heavily by its fine shallow sandy soils and
underlying deep cracked ironstone. An old vineyard,
and highly sought-after by others, it provides a
complex structured base to all of our top wines.
An expressive wine showing dark concentrated
flavours full body and firm tannin structure and a
savoury edge built to age with elegance and softness
to approach now.
Dark ruby red in colour, intense aromas of black berry
black cherry kirsch dried fig dark chocolate with a
subtle spice and smoky toastiness.
The palate is full and weighty with fruit whilst being
soft and round. Juicy red fruits come through on the
palate along with the plum, black cherry and
blackberry. Subtly layered toastiness and coffee wrap
around the chocolate kirsch and fig flavours that
continue on the long dusty fine grained toasty tannin
