Vintage= 2017

Tasting Notes= This single vineyard wine was made from the best barrels of the vintage. Allowing us to show the nuances of this individual Vineyard site on the southern edge of the McLaren Vale Township. It is influenced heavily by its fine shallow sandy soils and underlying deep cracked ironstone. An old vineyard, and highly sought-after by others, it provides a complex structured base to all of our top wines. An expressive wine showing dark concentrated flavours full body and firm tannin structure and savoury edge built to age with elegance and softness to approach now. Dark ruby red in colour, intense aromas of black cherry kirsch dried fig dark chocolate with subtle spice and smoky toastiness. The palate is full and weighty with fruit whilst being soft and round. Juicy red fruits come through on the palate along with the plum, black cherry and blackberry. Subtly layered toastiness and coffee wraparound the chocolate kirsch and fig flavours that continue on the long dusty fine grained toasty tannin finish
